DIEPSLOOT OUTREACH

SATURDAY, 8 OCTOBER 2022

Wow, praise God for showing us His glory! We went to Diepsloot, a rural area in Johannesburg where we have a local church, to share the Good News with the people. We were almost a hundred people that went and we just filled their main street with all of their local businesses with lots of people and lots of cars passing by. I was in a group with my Dad, Mine, Michael, and Diane and praise God we could pray for over 20 people and lead between 5 to 10 people to Jesus!

One thing that was really awesome for me, is just how God brings the people to you. We were speaking with this one person and all of a sudden this HUUGE guy taps me on the shoulder. I had a split second moment of “Whoah.” but praise God He gave me the boldness to just go for it. This encounter was really special for me. His name was Prince and he is a bouncer. I said HUUGE because he was huge, gyming 4 hours a day! Well, Prince knew the Lord Jesus and had Him living in his heart but he walked up to us to tell us that he drinks a lot and he needs God. Praise God we could pray for him and tell him that Jesus has already delivered him from every bondage and every addiction. We could encourage him to get to know Jesus and feed his spirit man with the Word of God so that his spirit man can be as strong as his natural man! I also remember just praying for him that whatever void he has that he’s trying to fill with alcohol, that Jesus may fill that void and satisfy him way more than alcohol would ever can. He even called me back later to come and talk to his friend because his friend needed Jesus. Praise God, I could lead Him to Jesus! He made Jesus the Lord and Saviour of his life! Whoo hoo!

Another special encounter was with a lady named Ester. The same name as mine! Praise God, she also just came up to us. I remember my dad asking her if she’s happy and she immediately said, “No.” She was not happy about the town and the theft and violence that’s happening there. She didn’t have Jesus living in her heart, so I read the Word to her telling her how much God loves her and gave her the card with the salvation prayer on to read. Praise God she prayed it and she received Jesus into her heart! Her whole demeanor changed, as if the lights went on, she got it, that God sent His Son to die for her and that He is alive. My dad then prayed for her, I was in agreement, one thing that I remember him praying for her was that wherever she goes that she will change the place around her because of the love of God now living inside of her. Afterwards I just also prayed that God will protect her wherever she goes and that no harm will come near her and her eyes just started tearing up. We could tell her about the Word of God and to go to the local church to learn more about the Word. She really wanted to have a Bible, the internet didn’t work to download one for her but praise the Lord my friend Mia was close by with a small Bible that we could give to her.

There were many more encounters, and special moments. Handing crosses to the little ones, seeing people receive Jesus, praying for the sick to recover and sharing the love of God with others are moments that nobody can take away from me. I thank God for this opportunity and that He has put it on Pastor John’s heart to invite Bill and Ginger, for their gifts to help our gifts mature. All the glory belongs to Jesus!
