MY STORY

My journey to Mixchange Grade 11. In the natural world grade 11 is a very important year. It’s not only the year to get your grades up for university but it’s the year where you seriously start to consider what you’re going to do after school. So I have a vision board for every year and 2019 was the year where i wanted to seek God for my assignment, calling and purpose. I asked Him (wanted to know) what He wants me to do after school. I also started sowing extra seed every month to Ps John for my purpose and calling. I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do. I actually had no interest in any degree being offered by any university. You know and everyone asks you, “what do you want to do after school?” My answer over and over again was ‘i don’t know’ to the point where i told myself to stop saying that because how would I know if I keep on saying I don’t.

Yet i had a conversation with someone saying that for 12 years i’ve been told what to do, with everything planned out for me, now suddenly i have to make the choice that determines my future. on the 7th of May, my mom and I went to Professor Zach Nel, who gives career counceling. So I did a few psychometric tests and long story short, his professional opinion was that i should become a doctor and specialise in medicine.

I never considered medicine but because what he said made sense and it was so appealing because I would be able to work with people, help them and make a difference. Therefore I decided that I’m going to study medicine, but not a GP, if I do this I’m going all in to specialise.

On that stage i was determined to go to university. We’re talking about a minimum of 10 years of studying. You know on our way to the professor, I asked God to use this man as a vessel yet I didn’t even inquire if I should go to this man. Who am I to tell God who He should use as a vessel ? We chose our own plan and asked God to bless it instead of following God’s plan that’s already blessed. Since then I started working on my grades.

Brynn – we had a conversation, where he suggested taking a gap year. He spoke to me about giving your firstfruits to God so that the rest will be blessed. Right after the conversation I had a moment with God where I told Him that if He wants me to do it, I will but i really don’t want to. (confrontation?) In my heart though I just wanted God’s plans for me. I really just wanted to do what He wants me to do, I mean we’re talking about my future and choices that determines the rest of my life. What God’s plans for me were, i did not know yet. So see in my head, at that point of time, I wanted to go study what God wants me to study without seeking Him IF I should go study. it was important for me to inquire from my spiritual leaders before i make any big decisions. So on the 5th of September 2019 I had a meeting with Ps John -i remember thinking if he would ask me to come join the A team I would, but he didn’t -he believes I’m called with a gift of leadership -he never said I shouldn’t go study, he just mentioned some concerns that he had and structures that can be put in place for me to stay connected to the church -asked a lot of questions that made me realise things and made me see the light in certain areas -(would i rather save one boy with a lung surgery or save ten teenagers that’s lost in life) -instructions: *prov 31 *have a chat with Mozi -i remember on that day after my meeting with Ps John i wrote in my notebook, “medicine is a no” so right then and there my mind was off medicine then the search continued i was really pressing and praying, asking God to show me, to speak to me about what i should do after school. I kept on asking God “What do You want to say to me.” i knew Ps John didn’t say ‘have a chat with Mozi’ for nothing so i went expectant Chat with Mozi: – not about the job it’s about doing it with and for God (it gives you purpose) – take your time, she said maybe a gap year (in my heart i started recognising that it’s the Holy Spirit speaking to me) Right after Mozi, it was the 29th Sept 2019, i went home and wrote down everything I thought was important and what the Holy Spirit highlighted for me. I kept on asking God, “What do You want to tell me, what should i realise… you know God is busy telling you something you just have to click it. So i just prayed in tongues. I will never forget this moment, i was in the shower, praying in tongues, pressing, continuing asking God what it is, and then suddenly loud and clearly i heard two words, “seek Me” it was one of those moments where you almost freeze for a few seconds. I immediately started praising Jesus and just glorifying God because in that moment i knew exactly what He was saying. Right after my shower I opened my bible at Matthew 6:33 knowing God is saying Seek Me first, in that moment i knew He was saying take time to seek Me first. Seek Me for the plans and purposes that I have for you. It’s amazing how two words changed the course of my future. Since that encounter with God, i knew in my heart, without making it official with Ps John, that I’m coming to church. Since then God has just been showing me more and more, and you know it’s all in the messages. It was so cool because in October Pastor John began a series called search and switch and one of the definitions of search is to seek carefully and thoroughly. 3rd Nov- turning point day- Ps G message (search and switch) on competing and comparing, the fear of God and how we are taught to provide for ourselves instead of trusting God to provide for us. See again it comes back to Mat 6:33. Quoting from his message, he said, “I’m not saying that education is evil. However I am saying that if the purpose of education is for the pursuit of provision, then it is evil.” That day was just another confirmation in my spirit that I should take time to seek God first, no matter what it costs me, knowing that He will provide for me and it was a mind shift to stop thinking that i should go study and get a job or just get any degree to “fall back on” to make sure i can provide for myself. December 2019 – work with Ps G – just being in the office, i enjoyed the fellowship and the the loving atmosphere, it’s such a wonderful environment to grow in. (optimum) January 2020 – Erich testimony, i got a revelation of taking it step by step. I always thought seeking God for His plans and purposes are going to result in Him giving me the whole plan for my life, when He actually just gives you the next step. Why would He give you the whole plan, if the whole point of having a relationship with Him is to trust Him day by day? One of Ps John’s instructions was to study prov 31, Ps Christi has so much revelation on prov 31 and was so awesome helping me and sharing it with me. I had 3 appointments with Ps Christi, 14 May and 27 May and our last one was on the 24th of June (after lockdown). – the call (the provision, everything, is in the call) (when you give your first, God will take you where you should be.) – prov 31 – she said, “Ek glo ook uit my hart uit dat jy sal kan floreer as ’n teacher” but also in certain aspects of the business world. lockdown – opportunity to help with snctry i remember preparing for the live (instagram), i had to do homework, and i was just so excited and wanted to be more in the Word and prepare more, i just couldn’t do any homework! I really enjoyed speaking to young people and just sharing with them. It was another confirmation for me that i would rather enjoy spending more time in the Word, learning about the Word first than going to university. I really also want to do Bible School first because there’s a lot of spiritual basics and Word that I still have to learn. 2020 August – Ps Sharon started with “I’m taking the children”, again it was turning point after turning point after turning point. Becoming like little children, coming out of Babylon, having faith like Abraham to not know where you’re going but still trusting God. Ps Sharon’s words of “you know everything yet you know nothing” describes what I’m experiencing with God so accurately. I knew in my heart for a while that im going to take time to seek God first after school, but i was and still am in awe of what God has been doing not only in my heart but in other young people’s hearts and also parents. Everyone’s story is so personal and precious and so important to God. Ps John – meeting 11 Nov – he welcomed and received me. MiXchange -honestly it’s like heaven on earth -having relationships (divine allignments, friends) i always dreamed of having -so much peace, knowing that God has got my future -learning something new everyday (more than i’ve learned in school !!!!) -perfect environment to grow -free to be myself knowing that everyone is at different levels of growth -recognising how we need each other in the Body of Christ -just a privilege to learn from Ps John and Ps Sharon, so grateful that they want to impart what they have learned over all these years to us, i just want to be like a sponge and soak it all up. -enjoying every moment etc.
